Are flip flops still in style for %26#039;08? (Or too ugly to wear in public?)

I%26#039;m planning to get my first pair this year...so what can i wear them with? Give me a list.

(Jeans....shorts....skirts...etc..??)

Geez your first pair? You have lived a truly deprived life. They go with everything. Jeans, cargos, skirts, shorts...etc.

Reply:flip flops will always be in style... you can wear them with almost anything... including jeans, skirts, and shorts ... i suggest going to Old Navy and getting them for $2 a pair and getting them in lots of fun colors for the upcoming spring and summer... they may not cost a lot but are super cute and will last for a respectable amount of time!!

ok so I like these flips flops. the bottom %26amp; the sole of the shoes is black. the flip flop strap things are pink or blue (etc.) with white polka dots. and it had a brown tip. WHERE CAN I GET THESE FLIPS FLOPS? here are some pictures:

Like most flip flops you can find those on the feet of frumpy soccer moms at Walmart and McDonalds.
Reply:umm....try the internet! lol....but honestly they are kinda 90%26#039;s....just be sure to wear the right outfit with it. a short skirt or shorts wont look great with it because it attracts everyone to your feet. wear boot cut jeans with them. always match your bag with your shoes. and try dsw or rack room shoes.

Can I wear my shower flip-flops more often than when I am showering?

I%26#039;m in college, so I wear flip-flops in the shower. The problem is that I have worn the same pair of flip-flops for so long that they have that perfect, wonderfully comfortable indentation of my foot in them. I would love to wear them on a regular basis over the summer, but is this unsanitary?

On another note, what is the point of shower flip-flops anyway? How does a small layer of cushion keep your feet from getting diseased?

Can I wear my shower flip-flops more often than when I am showering?
You can wear them for more but they don%26#039;t give good arch support. People tend to get sore feet if they wear them too much.

Okay, first point: I have nothing against flip-flops. In fact, I wear them a lot.

But can%26#039;t people see that something as formal and important as a graduation is NOT a proper occasion to wear them?

I can guess that some girls are going to say: %26quot;They%26#039;re comfortable, and high heels hurt our feet.%26quot;

Now, come on, flip-flops and high heels are not your ONLY two choices. How about the so-called %26quot;Mary Janes%26quot;? Or, if those are too frumpy for your taste, how about kitten heels and low-heeled pumps?

I live in Taiwan, and though girls here (including myself) wear flip-flops ALL the time, we%26#039;d definitely NOT wear them to a graduation. So really... I don%26#039;t know what American girls are thinking :p

I think it%26#039;s a matter of respect, class, grace and manners. Unfortunately, dying attributes in America. Good manners are a lost art and parents aren%26#039;t teaching their children about good manners and respect - schools don%26#039;t teach those kinds of things either. And it%26#039;s showing when you look at our society in general. So, it may be a far leap to start out discussing flip-flops and end up discussing society at large, but when manners and respect aren%26#039;t learned and not sought after, it%26#039;ll show up everywhere including at graduation when you look at the students%26#039; choices of footwear.

I agree flip flops arent the most formal attire, and i wouldnt wear them to a wedding or anything like that, but a graduation is just celebrating yourself leaving high school, one of the places where there are so many rules and so much restraint...so the obvious choice on graduation night is to wear what YOU like. Thats why I wore flip flops.

I have a pair of havainas flip flops and they are the most comfortable flip flops i have ever owned! My cousin has a pair as well...i tried it on - hers was way softer!! she uses it all the time so thats probably the reason why it is way softer than mine... but do u hav an idea to speed up the process? perhaps soaking the rubber flip flops in hot water? would that make it softer? or do u know any method to make the flip flops softer?

I am from TX, so there are only like 2 months out of the year when its too cold for Flip Flops. Anyway, my G/F bought me a pair and I am wondering what the general feeling is on guys wearing flip flops. I think my feet look ok, and they are comfortable, but I always felt that sandals were for girls since they have better looking feet. On the other hand it does get very, very hot here in the summers, and flip flops may come in handy.

I had a friend who worn flip flops even after they had worn holes in the sole. She only worn them when she could not be barefoot. The flip flops she worn developed holes in them rather quickly. She would continue to wear them around. I asked her why she continued to wear them after the had holes, she told me they dont bother her, they where only shoes. Have you ever worn flip flops with holes in the sole?

Ok. Target had this pair of flip flops the past 2 summers in a row and I have absolutely LOVED them. So comfy. But I went to target and they aren%26#039;t there this summer. I am unsure of the brand, but there is a small tag at the middle of the strap on both flip flops that says moss- I%26#039;m guessing maybe it%26#039;s short for mossimo? And on the shoe is an owl. They remind me a little of Rainbows... I guess they were a knock off. Here%26#039;s a pic of my flip flop.

I can%26#039;t get the link of your photo to work - but they are most likely Mossimo shoes. Target doesn%26#039;t carry a lot of Mossimo attire anymore - and they usually try to keep very current and wouldn%26#039;t carry the same shoes from a season ago, let alone two summers. If you can%26#039;t find them on Ebay, you%26#039;re most likely SOL.

At Walmart for example they have the big flip flop display right in front of the electronics section in the main aisle so the whole world is seeing you when you are taking a look at the flip flops.

Are you embarrassed to buy flip flops? If so I suggest you buy yours at Macy%26#039;s...they stick them in the socks/ hosiery/ slippers and scarfs isle! LOL

I have no idea why they wouldn%26#039;t stick them in the shoe section.
Reply:They are placed where people will buy them on an impulse. Also, I don%26#039;t think they%26#039;re an item too many people are bashful about, so there isn%26#039;t much of a need to tuck them away discreetly.
